Internet Marketing Tips - Are You Losing Business?
You’d be surprised the number of things you could do that just might end up costing you business…a lot of it. I’m not going to cover every nook and cranny of Internet marketing in this article in order to alert you to the many possible danger signs that you might be losing business, but I am going to focus on what I think are the main ones. I suggest you check these off to make sure that you’re not committing these sins. If you are, you’re certainly losing business.
The one at the very top of the list is payment processing. I can’t believe how many people out there only have one way to accept payment from a customer. Not everybody can use PayPal. Not everybody has a credit card. Not everybody can buy through Clickbank. You need to offer people as many options as you can otherwise you are most certainly losing business. This is the biggest sin that most merchants, including myself (guilty) make. I am currently in the process of adding payment processors to my business.
The next biggest sin is not collecting leads. A prospect goes to your sales page, doesn’t immediately decide to buy your product, closes up the browser and is gone. Guess what? This is the last time that you’re ever going to see them. Now, did you offer them an opt in form for a special report or newsletter so you can at least get him on your list? If not, guess what? You got it…you’re losing business again. Lead capturing is one of the most important aspects of running any sales based business.
We then move on to the sales page itself. I can’t tell you how many sales pages I see with links all over the place. There should basically be one link on your sales page…the buy now link. Maybe a disclaimer page link as well, but that’s it. Sales pages that have all kinds of links, especially links to affiliate signup pages, are losing money…tons of it. You’re basically giving prospects a license to steal from you. Your sales page should be focused and there should only be one action for the prospect to take…clicking on that buy now button.
These are certainly not the only things that will lose you money, but they are at the very top of the list. Eliminate these and you’ll be on your way to putting more income in your pocket each month.
